PORN IS POISON. 4 MORE WAYS THAT PORN IS SLOWLY DESTROYING YOU. PART II.

Porn is injecting so much poison into our hearts and minds, that one list only scratches the surface. This is Part II, with some more examples of slow destruction.

Is a few minutes of watching porn every day or so really all that bad? How about a few hours a day? Maybe you don’t think it’s doing any damage at all. But smoking 2-3 cigarettes a day isn’t doing much damage either. Even 2-3 packs a day would just give you a terrible hacking cough. Yet after a few years, or a few decades, it’s a different story. Now you have cancer, emphysema, or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Now parts of you are dying.

If you added up all that time and energy you spent watching porn, and then you could actually see how, over enough time, it burned nasty black holes into your brain, you might think differently about a few minutes of watching porn every day or so.

1. The Cost of Porn is Staggering. Add up your time spent per day watching porn (and / or masturbating), and then the time spent per week. Make sure to add all the time spent viewing any other material that displays men and women as objects of sex. Add all the time spent even thinking about people as sexual objects, and time sunk into fantasy land. And now think of the lost opportunities, to build yourselves, your families, your businesses, and try to comprehend the amount of energy that was given over to porn, instead of creating something useful.

2. Porn is Gender Prejudice. When you view a woman as an object of sex and nothing else, you have devalued every other quality she holds as a person. The feminine qualities of gentleness, kindness, nurturing, and love are ignored and dishonored in those moments when all that you see are naked body parts. This feminine energy brought us all into the world, loving and caring for us, and to devalue the feminine is devaluing all females.

3. Porn has Fractured You into Pieces. It is very common for men to identify themselves by a few basic “manly” qualities, such as physique, dominance, and material wealth. These concepts are heavily reinforced by porn. As men, we have tied these qualities to our sense of self, and ignored other qualities such as kindness, love, connection, understanding. Because some parts of us have become more important than others, we are fractured. Our egos are unbalanced and fragile. And we can never stand in a place of real power, real strength, and real wholeness until this balance is restored.

4. Porn is Suffering Disguised as Pleasure. We might know someone that is very overweight, unhealthy, and unhappy, and see them stuffing down the junk food to make themselves feel better. We can see them hurting themselves, and see that they do not understand how devastating this actually is, to their body, their heart, their mind, and their spirit. The addict that cannot stop watching porn and masturbating is no different from an obese person stuffing down a whole cake. They have both reinforced a damaging behavioral pattern by connecting it to a concept of pleasure. Eating cake feels good, sex feels good, dopamine feels good. The first instant of pleasure is the disguise. The instants of pain that soon follow are the true face of porn.

Distorted beliefs.

Sexual prejudice.

Damaged relationships.

Isolation from others.

Lost in a fantasy world.

Unaware of delusion.

Inability to cope.

Disconnection from reality, from other people, and from ourselves.

We have the evidence of suffering all around us, even though it is not as immediately obvious as too much cake. Just look around.

Of all the different roads that lead to

pathological mental illness,

porn is a super-highway.
